Getting to your Hotel

The Fairmont and InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotels are located on Nob Hill near downtown San Francisco.

There are several options for getting to the hotels from San Francisco International Airport:

BART: Bay Area Rapid Transit, and trains run from San Francisco International Airport to downtown SF every 15 minutes. The airport BART station is adjacent to the International Terminal and the closest station to the hotel is Powell Street. The trip takes about 30 minutes and is $8.10 each way. Read more.

Taxi: Taxis can be found at the airport on the level outside baggage claim. Estimated fare to downtown San Francisco is $37-40. Read more.

Shared-ride vans (i.e., SuperShuttle): Shared-ride vans provide service between SFO and passenger-specified locations, usually making several stops. Van service is available on a walk-up basis. However, passengers are advised to make reservations for service after 11:00 p.m. Shared-ride vans pick up passengers on the Departures/Ticketing Level from the roadway center island at all terminals. All fees are in US dollars. The conference registration fee covers attendance to the main conference, workshops, conference proceedings, a conference t-shirt, and one banquet ticket.

 

Venue 

The Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity of Diversity in Computing Conference will be held at the FAIRMONT HOTEL, San Francisco, located in 950 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA. 

We have reached our hotel capacity at the Fairmont. As a result, we request that you make your reservations at the InterContinental Hotel.

The Intercontinental Hotel is directly across the street from the conference site.

Please make reservations at the conference rate of $169.00+tax/night, call (800-662-4455), and mention the ACM Tapia Conference. All room requests require an advance deposit or credit card to guarantee the reservation. Should you desire to cancel a reservation, your deposit will be refunded in full if you notify the Hotel at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to scheduled arrival date. Credit cards will not be charged until actual check-in or late cancellation. To make a hotel reservation please call the hotel directly at the above phone number.

 

Cancellation and Refund Policy

All refund and cancellation requests must be submitted in writing (email or fax) no later than Friday, March 25, 2011 to qualify for a refund less a $50.00 processing fee. No refunds will be issued after March 25, 2011. Refunds will be processed based on the original form of payment within 60 days after the close of the conference. No-shows will be charged the full conference registration fee.

Substitutions are allowed at no charge, but must be made by March 25, 2011.

NOTE: If you have applied for a scholarship, please do NOT reserve a room at the hotel. We are holding a block of rooms for scholarship recipients.
