Madeline is in her second year on the tenure-track faculty at Colgate University, a small Liberal Arts College. She teaches CS1 and HCI courses and researches social technologies for maintaining interpersonal relationships. Madeline became interested in Computer Science after getting involved in research as an undergrad at Ithaca College. She then started her PhD at Cornell University before following her advisor to Northwestern University. During grad school Madeline taught at Northwestern as well as DePaul University, and did an internship at Microsoft Research. She considered both academia and industry, but ultimately applied only to faculty positions at primarily undergraduate institutions.
